Nana Valishvili

Ethnomusicologist, a head of the Department of Musical Art at the Folklore State Centre. In 1986 she graduated from the faculty of Musicology (Folklore specialty) at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. She has been a teacher of Georgian folk singing in a secondary and public schools and a college. She participates in field work, is a member of the women’s ensemble “Mzetamze”. She is a founder and a leader of a men’s choir “Jvaruli”, a performer of Khevi songs. She also is a teacher at the E. Garaqanidze Children’s Studio “Amer-Imeri” and a conductor of the Petre-Pavle Church choir.
