A candidate in History of Art. In 1981 she graduated from the faculty of Musicology (Folklore specialty) at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. Over years she worked at the Department of the Musical Folklore of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, a head of the Chair in Music at the Institute of Culture. Her scientific work is related to the issue of hymnography. Her thesis for seeking a candidate’s degree was “Kartuli rva khmis sistema da misi kilo-intonatsiuri safudzveli” (Georgian eight voice system and its mode-intonation basement).
