Doctor in History of Art, Professor, Director of the International Research Center for Traditional Polyphony. Deputy chair of the Organizing Committee of the International Symposium on Traditional Polyphony, and the head of Scientific programs. In the past she worked at the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, Publishing House “Khelovneba”. In 1986-2007 she was a Deputy Rector of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. The focus of her scientific and pedagogical work is Georgian professional and ethno music. She is an author of scientific works published in Georgian and foreign languages.She is an initiator and leader of a number of projects. In 2003-2007 she was a coordinator of the project by UNESCO “Protection and Development of Georgian Polyphony”. She also is a co-editor of the proceedings of Tbilisi Symposias.

Doctor in history of Art. Head of the Department of Musical Folklore of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. Consultant at the Folklore State Centre of Georgia. Director of the student ensemble of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. A member of the women’s choir “Mzetamze”. Participant of many international conferences and symposia (Georgia, Germany, France, UK, Latvia, Portugal, Italy). Over 50 scientific works of her are dedicated to the issue of teaching Georgian folk music, folk performaing style and women’s traditional songs. At the Tbilisi State Conservatoire she leads the course of lectures in Georgian musical folklore. She is actively involved in field work and performing sphere of the Georgian folklore. She provides master classes and workshops for professionals and amateurs in the universities and conservatoires of France, Belgium, Holland, UK, and Finland. She is an initiator and a leader of the series of the “Educational Lecture-concerts Dedicated to the Traditional Performance of Georgian Folk Music”. She also is involved in publishing-editorial work.

Ethnomusicologist, Doctor of Musicology, Professor at Ilia State University, specialist at the Folklore laboratory of Tbilisi State Conservatoire, a member of female folk ensemble ”Mzetamze”; studies the problem of semantics in Georgian traditional music, children’s folklore, Georgian –North Caucasian parallels. Takes part in national and international symposia and various projects; is a participant and leader of folk expeditions; has published collections of traditional music, disks, monographs on Georgian choir masters (her book “Polikarpe Khubulava” was a winner of the ‘best musicological book’ nomination in 2015); experienced in leading work-shops of Georgian folk music outside Georgia.

Doctor of Music, ethnomusicologist, Associated Professor at Ilia State University, director of the Ilia State University students’ folk choir, Dean at Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Higher Educational Institution of Ecclesiastical Chant. Graduated from the Department of Musi­cology of Tbilisi State Conservatoire (1986), defended a doctoral thesis on the forms of Georgian traditional polyphony. His research interests have concentrated  on  the   issues of traditional polyphony, interrelation between Georgian folk song and church hymns and their  performance. Has participated in a number of national and international scientific conferences and field expeditions.

19.07.1981. Ethnomusicologist, Doctor of Arts; was born on 19 July, 1981, in Tbilisi. In 2002 graduated from Tbilisi state Conservatoire, Bachelor of Music History. Defended dissertation: “Georgian Round-dance Songs: Peculiarities of Musical Language”. Since 2004 has been a specialist at the Laboratory of Georgian Folk Music Department of Tbilisi State Conservatoire. Since 2008 has been a teacher at E. Mikeladze Tbilisi Central Music School; worked at the State Folklore Centre of Georgia in 2008-2012;  in 2008-2012 was a music presenter and author of ethnomusicological programs at FolkRadio: “history of one song”, Georgian musical dialects”, “A genre”, since 2015 has been Assistant professor at V.Sarajishvili Tbilisi state Conservatoire.

Has participated in about 20 folk music expeditions; is a former member of ensemble “Pesvebi” and “Conservatoire ensemble”; directs ensemble “Akhalukhlebi”. His scholarly interest is Georgian round-dance songs.

A teacher at the Georgian Folk Music Department of Tbilisi State Conservatoire and theological Seminary.  Leads one of the work-shops at the High School of Georgian Chant and Song, Founder. Was the leader (1988-2007) of Anchiskhati Church Choir. Graduated from the faculty of musicology of Tbilisi State Conservatoire (specialized in folklore, 1990). His scholarly interest is focused on the revival of lesser known Georgian folk songs and ancient church chants and on the maintenance of the correct form of their performance manner. He directs folk ensemble Sakhioba and Mama Daviti Church choir. Has published about 25  CDs with different ensembles (Anchiskhati Choir, Dzveli kiloebi, Mama Daviti church choir, Sakhioba); participates in field expeditions, leads consultations for the performers of Georgian songs and chants in Georgia and abroad. Has published 9 collections of Georgian church hymn transcriptions.  His researchs are also dedicated to Georgian scale and nature of Georgian polyphony.

Doctor of Musicology. In 2010 he defended Doctoral dissertation: “Eight-tone System in Georgian Sacred Chant”. He works at the Department of Musical Folklore at Tbilisi State Conservatoire; he is a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Georgia, a member of Anchiskhati choir. Georgian church music is the focus of his scientific work. His scientific works are dedicated to the tradition of Georgian chanting school, and polyphony of church music. Also, he prepared and published collections of Georgian folk songs and chants. He participates in field work, scientific symposia and conferences.
